Let’s face it, despite planned date nights and early bed time for the kids, busy parents can always use some suggestions to spice up bedroom time. Well, I can’t think of a better excuse to eat my way to better sex than these suggested foods to boost your sex drive and really make the most of coveted, and many times not often enough, date night. Add these foods to your next dinner date menu for a jump start to intimacy with your partner:

Watermelon: According to Woman’s Day, this fruit can serve a much bigger purpose than a family treat on the 4th of July. Watermelon contains an amino acid called l-citrulline that aids in relaxing and dilating blood vessels. In turn, this increases blood flow to sexual organs creating climax-worthy results. Add it to your pre-dinner salad or as dessert right before the real date night festivities begin.

Saffron:
According to the Natural Medicine Journal, saffron can serve as a libido boosting flavor enhancer that also enhances sex drive. In a study conducted to assess sexual function, it was found that participants given saffron on a regular basis were found to have significant improvements in their total Female Sexual Function Score.

Lobster: Need an excuse for surf and turf? Look no further than the bedroom. Well, maybe don’t eat the lobster in your bedroom, but you will be heading there shortly after as lobster is a great source of zinc. Zinc has been proven to enhance male sexual libido.
